Our Students
Our foundation takes great pride in supporting our students as they pursue God’s call upon their lives in ministry. We are proud of each of them for saying yes to the call while working hard to pursue their theological education and spiritual formation.
Christian Dixon
Christian serves as the Worship and Missions Director at Good News Church in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. He is a husband to his wife Taylor and father to two little girls. Christian is honored by the opportunity to pursue a theological education at Asbury and continue pursuing his call in ministry.
Rev. Clayton Lassiter
Clayton is husband, father, and pastor located serving in Headland, Alabama. He is an ordained Deacon in the Global Methodist Church. He and wife Rev. Bobbi Lassiter have been married for 17 years and have three children. Clayton felt called to ministry while serving in the United States Marine Corps. He feels grateful for the opportunity to finish his Masters of Divinity at Asbury.
CJ Harvey
CJ serves as the Ministry Teams & Outreach Pastor at Harvest Church in Dothan, AL. He also oversees Young Adults Ministry (ages 18-25). He is passionate about people getting involved in ministry and being the hands and feet of Jesus. CJ and his wife Lydia have two young children. He is studying to earn his Masters of Divinity at Asbury.
Jimmy Barnes
Jimmy is the Youth and Young Adult Ministry Director at Dalraida Global Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL. He also serves with Medical Outreach Ministries to serve those who are uninsured and in need of care. Jimmy is studying at Asbury to earn his Masters of Divinity.
John Kelsoe
John is a husband, father, and associate pastor at Shalimar United Methodist Church. He began his Seminary journey in the fall of 2021 and currently just passed the halfway point in his studies. John is pursuing ordination as an elder in the United Methodist Church of the Alabama West Florida conference.
Marcus Popenfoose
Marcus serves as the Associate Pastor of Cornerstone Church in Auburn, AL. He has been married to his wife Victoria for 8 years and they have two young daughters. Marcus is an Auburn University graduate where he competed for the Auburn Tigers Track and Field team. He is thankful for the opportunity to follow God’s call to serve in ministry and study at Asbury.
Savanah White
Savanah is the Associate Student Minister at Crosspoint Church in Niceville, FL. She is studying to earn her Master of Arts in Christian Ministries and pursuing ordination in the Global Methodist Church. She enjoys ministering to teens and has a passion for Biblical teaching.
Tanya Murphy
Tanya serves as the Family Ministries Coordinator at Saint James Church in Montgomery, AL. She is a certified candidate for ordination in the Global Methodist church and is pursuing a Masters in Biblical Studies at Asbury.
Logan Brendle
Logan is a second-year, full-time student at Asbury Theological Seminary. She received her call to ministry while she was in high school. She has served in worship ministry for ten years and youth ministry for three years. Of the many places she has led worship, Hughes Auditorium and Estes Chapel have become the most special. Logan was married this past August to her husband, Lawson Brendle.
Meredith Freeman
Meredith is an Associate Minister at Crosspoint Church in Niceville, FL. She serves in the areas of young adult ministries, discipleship, and preaching. She is grateful for the support of the Asbury Foundation that allows her to maximize the impact of her ministry.
Rev. Randall Jackson
Randall is a Transitional Local Pastor and serve Pine Hill-Arlington Methodist Church in Wilcox County, Alabama. He is studying to earn his Master of Divinity. He is grateful for those who contribute to the Asbury Seminary Foundation to help further the kingdom of God.
Victoria Scofield
Victoria is the Pastor of Cypress United Methodist Church in Grand Ridge, FL. She is a a certified candidate for ordination and is pursuing her Masters of Divinity at Asbury.
